A Kingston Property Services scheme has won gold for the fifth year running at the 2019 Northumbria in Bloom Awards.
Liberty Green in Washington has
earned a Gold Award in the Residential Communities Category for its brilliant
work to improve the area through community gardening.
A small group of residents have
worked tirelessly to maintain the gardens at Liberty Green, voluntarily giving
their time to make sure that the gardens are kept to a high standard all year
round.
Northumbria in Bloom is part of the
RHS Britain in Bloom campaign, a nationwide community gardening competition to
transform cities, towns & villages. The competition aims to bring cheer to
the country through community gardening and the judges are all volunteers and
come from a variety of horticultural backgrounds.
Tracey Smith, property manager at Kingston Property Services said: “The standards of the competition are set very high and it’s a huge achievement to win the gold award five years running. The volunteers put a lot of time and effort into the gardens and I’m delighted they have been recognised with such a fantastic award.”
The volunteers also work together
with residents and business owners from Washington Village, who also won a gold
award this year.
Massive congratulations go out to everyone involved.
