Eligibility: Inspiration Grant

The Inspiration Grant will be awarded to inspirational young people aged 24 or under. These young people should demonstrate real potential, with a talent for anything from sporting skills, academia, performing arts to creative flair. Applicants must normally reside in Bernicia’s operating area.

Note: this grant is only awarded to individuals, organisations should apply for an Inclusion Grant

The Bernicia Foundation can award grants of up to £1,000 per person. It is unlikely individual awards would exceed this amount, although we may give consideration to exceptional circumstances.

This Grant is available to young people aged 24 and under and who are based in Bernicia’s operating area.

Priority will be given to Bernicia tenants and to those living in areas where Bernicia has a significant local presence.

We are actively interested in applications from Northumberland which is considered a high priority area for funding.

Low Priority – Applications from the following areas have previously received proportionately high levels of grant. These are currently considered a low priority for funding.

  • Sunderland
  • County Durham
  • Redcar
  • Newcastle
  • Gateshead
  • South Tyneside
  • Darlington
  • Middlesbrough
  • Stockton-on-Tees

We will continue to review and adapt these funding priorities as our grant programme develops.

Additionally, people who have received funding from us in the past 3 years will usually not be considered a high priority for further funding for 3 years from the grant award.
