Tweedmouth students create tenant "thank you" cards

Students at Tweedmouth Community Middle School in Northumberland used their artistic flair to add a personal “thank you” to tenants for their support during a £20m programme of refurbishment works.

Bernicia’s Stock Investment Surveyor Alice Kennedy and Engie’s Resident Liaison Officer Julie Milne selected the winning designs – crafted by brother and sister Isabel and William Gilchrist, Eve Douglas and Isla Thompson. All are pictured above.

Engie is the principal contractor for Bernicia on the refurbishment programme to properties across the North East – including some near to the school in the Tweedmouth area.

The striking “thank you” cards will be given to tenants to thank them for their support and patience while their properties are being refurbished.

Alice and Julie worked with Tweedmouth Middle pupils to come up with card designs. All the school’s artwork is now being displayed at Engie’s North East office in Hebburn.

Julie said: “The pupils were so enthusiastic about the competition, it was wonderful to see so many entries being submitted. It’s a shame we couldn’t pick all of them – narrowing down to just four was very tough.

“I want to pass on my congratulations to Isabel, William, Eve and Isla and it will be great to see their designs being sent to residents across the region.”

Michael Farr, Bernicia’s Executive Director of Assets and Growth, said: “The quality of the designs the pupils have created shows their artistic talent and adds an extra touch of sincerity to the “thank you” cards we give to tenants.

“We appreciate our tenants’ understanding in allowing us to complete refurbishment works to their homes – and it will be great to show that appreciation with these eye-catching new cards.”
